Seduce: to win over; attract

Yarn seduces me with her siren call. "Pick me! Pick me!" I am hopelessly enchanted by yarn and am delighted by the endless choices.

The Sweater Challenge week 6

I'm taking a break from my sweater this week. I could not face the cables after fighting with nupps and beads.

Instead our Wed. Knit Group had a Valentine Tea Party. Check out the pictures of the yummy brownies and chocolate tea at SuKnitWitty's blog.  As you can see we all took a break from our sweater projects!

So instead of a sweater progress picture, I give you a lovely pink carnation.
Have a good weekend!

WedKnitTrio

The WedKnitTrio got together for a Thanksgiving lunch. I know, I know it's early but there is much going on this month and this Wed was it.

Our Thanksgiving lunch consisted of chicken and rice soup, cornbread, and pumpkin pie. Yum!!
We are thankful for friends and the time we can spend together.

"A Friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway."

After lunch we had show and tell and then started working on our latest projects

Gina is working on a scrap afghan, using up bits and pieces of left over yarn.

What is this?! SueKnitWitty has started her second sock?! Yep, I got her started using the 9" circular Hiya Hiya. No more dpns for this sock knitter! Check out her WedKnitTrio blog here.
And here I am working on something green.
We had a nice day, chatting and knitting/crocheting. What stories we share!! of course what is said at WedKnitTrio stays with WedKnitTrio. (well... I think)

We want to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Witchy Wednesday

Come on in...
... join us for some witchy fun...
What would a Witchy Wednesday be without some witchy knitters?!

First to arrive... SueKnitWitchy...

and then comes WitchyKnitterGina...

...popcorn, chocolate, and a movie...(I really wanted to get "Hocus Pocus" or "Witches of Eastwick" but they were not available to so I got a ghostly movie.)

The Witchy Wednesday Knit Trio may not have gotten much knitting done today but we had fun!
Check out some more witchyness here.

Wednesday's 3 Julias

Today the Wednesday Knit Trio met for a "Julie & Julia" inspired luncheon.
A picture perfect table...
A delicious menu with a Crustless Maryland Crab Quiche (recipe at the end of the blog), a Spring Salad mix with a Raspberry Vinaigrette, a dish of berries, blueberry muffins with a choice of Lemon Curd, Boysenberry Preserves, or "BUTTER!!" (if you've seen the movie Julie & Julia, you'll know you can't have too much butter) (if you haven't seen the movie, you should... it's great!).

You cannot imagine my surprise when SuKnitWitty showed up in hat, pearls, and apron!! And she had a hat, pearls, and apron for each of us. What fun to dress up and be Julia for the afternoon.

The cook...although I don't look Julia-ish...
I love the hat!! But I should've changed shoes, lol.

And the recipe:
CRUSTLESS MARYLAND CRAB QUICHE*

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese, divided
1/2 cup chopped sweet red pepper
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 Tablespoon BUTTER
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
3/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
3/4 cup (6 oz) crabmeat

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Prepare pie plate:
Lightly spray 9" pie plate with Pam. Sprinkle 1/2 cup Swiss cheese on bottom of pie plate.

In a skillet, saute red pepper and onions in butter until tender.

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, cream, and Old Bay seasoning. Stir in the red pepper and onions, the crab, and remaining Swiss cheese (I didn't measure, I just added a handful... oh, so un-Julia-like of me)

Pour into pie plate and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.
