Seduce: to win over; attract

Yarn seduces me with her siren call. "Pick me! Pick me!" I am hopelessly enchanted by yarn and am delighted by the endless choices.

Favorite On-line Yarn Shops

Two of my favorite on-line yarn shops are Simply Socks Yarn Company and The Loopy Ewe.

After six years of sock knitters support and loyalty, Simply Socks Yarn Company (SSYC) is having a Grand Opening of a physical store (no, not near me, boohoo)!  You can see progress of how Alison turned an old post office into a beautiful yarn shop here.   And she will be offering a Grand Opening Sock Kit (available online next week, although I've been haunting her blog and webpage just in case it's available today).

Some of my favorite yarns from SSYC are:
Sleeping Dragon Wooly Bamboo fingering weight.  My favorite color is  Roses & Chocolate.  I've already worn out the pair of socks I made with this yarn!! It is luscious to work with and a dream to wear.
Last year Alison came out with a SSYC Solid Sock yarn line.  Love it!  You can choose from 66 beautiful colors.  I made my "Walk Across Texas Socks" out of this yarn.
Other favorite yarns are ShiBui, Lorna's Laces, Schaefer, and Malabrigo.

I have also bought patterns and stitch markers at SSYC.  I have participated in the SSYC yarn clubs and have been very please with the yarn and colors I've received.  I can't say enough about how great this online shop and the service received has been.  I wish Alison the best of luck with her new physical shop.  Maybe one day I'll be able to visit it.

The Loopy Ewe is celebrating their 5th anniversary month.  There is a free pattern.  And for something different this year, instead of one anniversary yarn, they are offering three special colorways by three different dyers spread out over three weeks.  One by the Sanguine Gryphon on their Bugga base, the second by Lorna's Laces on their Solemate base, and the third one will be out next week.  A great way to celebrate an anniversary!

Check out their webpage and Sherry's blog.  I've ordered yarn, needles, and patterns.  I've participated in their yarn club.  And this summer they are having Camp Loopy.   Another yarn shop with great customer service and great yarns!

This month is great time to celebrate with two of my favorite on-line shops.

Unwinding...

...at Unwind the Yarn Shop

Last November, when I came down for the baby shower, my daughter showed me a yarn shop that had recently opened. I was very excited because I can't remember there ever being a yarn shop in this little town. I was happy to see they had different times of open knitting scheduled.

Every Thursday afternoon the shop has "Snowbird Afternoon Tea." (Snowbirds come from different states to the south to get away from the cold and snow)

Yesterday I was able to join some very friendly ladies for knitting and chatting. And of course some tea!

And of course I checked out all the yarn! (just a small view of a some of the yarns available)

I did good, but I have a few more weeks here. I'll be going back... to get some yarn to visit and touch all the pretty yarn!
