Before we left for our Las Vegas trip, I was the featured artist at the monthly Art Walk. I displayed some of my knitting and was available for questions at the Wool n' Cotton Shop. I had a nice time and actually sold 4 of my scarf patterns!!
And then I started this...
That is as far as I got because we then left for Las Vegas.
We had planned for this trip two years ago when our best friend said she wanted to go to Vegas for her 50th birthday.
The birthday girl...
It gets cold in MO so I made her scarf. Even though it was 80 some degrees in Vegas, she tried it on for me.
We enjoyed a great dinner at The Tender Steak & Seafood Restaurant at the Luxor (toasting all 50 yr olds!)
Of course we saw a 'late night' adult show [wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean, know what I mean].
We ate brunch at the Bellagio (after walking to the monorail, riding it to Bally's, walking forever to get across the street to the Bellagio, only to discover we could've come out the front of the Flamingo, crossed the street and walked in front of Cesaer's Palace to the Bellagio!!)
We enjoyed watching "The Lion King." I had not seen the movie before and it was great to see it on stage. I loved the costume and the music.
We walked all over the place and our feet hurt! We stopped for a coke at the Coke Store. Do we look tired or what?!
We took a bus tour to Laughlin, NV. It stopped by Hoover Dam. We have been to Hoover Dam and to Lake Mead before and got lots of pictures. But I couldn't resist taking a couple more pictures! Because the bus stopped on the Arizona side, I actually got to step foot in Arizona! (a place I have not been before) .
They are building a suspension bridge and it has fallen a few times due to the wind!!
Not sure I'd want to drive across it!
I had never been to Laughlin, NV and didn't know what to expect. Well, it was casinos and some outlet shops. The best part was the view of the Colorado River flowing between Nevada and Arizona.
We tried to take a riverboat cruise but couldn't get enough people interested, so no go. Instead we had to go into the casinos and throw our money
We had a great trip and returned home with sore feet. Then I had to prepare for a lace class I taught Thursday night!! yikes! So I was busy getting ready for class and still neglected the blog. But class went well, I've caught up with the laundry and most of my phone calls so I should be able to be a better blogger. (hehehe... we'll see...)
