Yarn seduces me with her siren call. "Pick me! Pick me!" I am hopelessly enchanted by yarn and am delighted by the endless choices.

"You may find that having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. This is not logical, but it is often true." -- Spock (Amok Time)

hmmm. I am going to have to think about that. I think though that for me the best part is seeing how the yarn feels as I knit it. How it works up and all that. At that point, I might occasionally lose interest!
My grandmother taught me embroidery when I was eight. When I was ten, she taught me to crochet. I learned to knit (not well) in junior high. In the 70's, needlepoint became my next art. It was while living in Italy, my English friend started me knitting again. Knitting has been my passion ever since.

If I can not get to using the yarn right away, I find this to be true. The period of time that I'm over-the-moon to own it is usually short.
If I'm able to cast on earlier, I find that I'm more happy with owning it in general.
