Seduce: to win over; attract

Yarn seduces me with her siren call. "Pick me! Pick me!" I am hopelessly enchanted by yarn and am delighted by the endless choices.

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

People of Irish heritage (and even those who aren't) in the United States love to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. And while it is a national holiday in Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is more of a religious holiday.

Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.

"May you have love that never ends,
lots of money and lots of friends.
Health be yours whatever you do,
and may God send many blessing to you!"

And I couldn't pass up the opportunity to leave you with a joke...

A Texan walks into a pub in Ireland and clears his voice to a crowd of drinkers. He says, "I hear you Irish are a bunch of hard drinkers. I'll give $500 American dollars to anybody in here that can drink 10 pints of Guinness back-to-back." The room is quiet and no one takes up the Texan's offer.

One man leaves. Thirty minutes later the same gentleman who left shows back up and taps the Texan on the shoulder. "Is your bet still good?" asks the Irishman.

The Texan says yes and asks the bartender to line up 10 pints of Guinness. Immediately the Irishman tears into all 10 of the pint glasses drinking them all back-to-back.

The other pub patrons cheer as the Texan sits in amazement.

The Texan gives the Irishman the $500 and says, "If ya don't mind me askin', where did you go for the 30 minutes you were gone?"

The Irishman replies, "Oh...I had to go to the pub down the street to see if I could do it first."

Hope you have a happy day as well, Susan! Loved getting caught up with your projects. Might have to get that one-skein sock book! How do you like that DB Eco yarn? It looks scrumptious! You are SO right; GK are fun but exhausting! We've been home for 3 days and are still pooped... ;)

LOL Sounds like an Irish man .... don't jump in until you know you'll be a success.

Have a Happy St. Pat's and make sure you wear some green so you don't get pinched.
