~Jef Malett, Frazz, 08-01-05 On my quest to find more time, I have been side-tracked by the internet. ?!! Well, I guess there is one place we all lose time.
Can you remember a time when there was no internet? Horrors!! no internet?! What did we do?
I actually went to the library more, researched encyclopedias and other books. I'm not saying we should do away with the internet, oh no! I like google search and it has improved over the years. It is so much faster to find things. I am now in the hurry up and find it mode where before I enjoyed the

When did we become such an instant gratification society?! We need to stop and smell the roses.

I'll be sitting here in my own little chair in my own little corner trying to learn something from the "Basics Guide" to my new phone.
:sigh: I already have a headache

Ah yes, exactly why I like my old photo/camera/TV and any other tech device: it is difficult to wrap my brain around anything new. Once I learn how to use the object, it is outdated. Sigh!
I will HATE the day it is time to upgrade my phone. It seems like I'm still LEARNING how to use THIS one. LOL
Good luck with the new phone. What did you get? I have an HTC Inspire.
Speaking of new things, have you looked at Blogger this morning? Seems to be a new format as promised.... I sure agree about taking time to smell the roses, but also wish there was more of it to take!
As great as the internet can be for making connections and finding information, it can also be a huge time suck. While I do more reading since getting rid of cable two years ago, I did even more before getting my own computer.
As for Judy's question about blogger's new format, what is your opinion of it? I had planned to post another progress report on my cross-stitch project, but had to give up. Sorry, blogger, but a "new and improved" format should not take 3 to 4 times longer to upload photos. Not only was it taking longer, but it would not let me place pics where I wanted them. It is, IMO, less user-friendly than it used to be. Why do they insist on "fixing" what isn't broken?
Congrats on getting a new phone. I'm with you. I just want someone to show me how to use new technology when I get it. I wouldn't want to do without the internet, but I do miss some things we used to do when time didn't move so fast.
Life is moving quite fast for most of us. I suppose I know how to slow it down in theory, but I've always been rather busy, so I think I like it like that.
I remember a time when there was no Windows! We did our computer work using MS-DOS commands and my computer didn't even have a hard drive--everything went on a huge floppy disk. I think that was yesterday. Right?
So cute. Susan B...One ringy dingy.....
Yes we get very impatient with tech toys don't we??? I don't' know where I'd be without my instant mail.....email and blogs. It is just mail, but all day long and wonderful
