Seduce: to win over; attract

Yarn seduces me with her siren call. "Pick me! Pick me!" I am hopelessly enchanted by yarn and am delighted by the endless choices.

Dragon Swap and finished socks

JudyS from Stitch Along With Me was my swap buddy for a Dragon themed swap hosted by KathyB at
Irisheyesknitters: My Yarn Garden.  And what wonderful goodies I received.

A fingerless mitt pattern, Dragon Scales; some luscious Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in my favorite colors; a bar of handcrafted soap with essentials oils and botanicals (for dry, dragon skin); a box of tea; a washcloth; and the cutest dragon ever!  You push on his back and fire (pretend) shoots out his mouth and his wings fly up!  Cute!!  Also she sent a book.  We had been talking about how much we like reading mysteries so JudyS sent one by Mary Daheim, a local author to her.  And the setting of the book is a fictional place based on a real place not far from her.  I can't wait to read it.  Thank you JudyS for a wonderful package.  And a big thank you to KathyB for another great swap!

And now for the first finished socks of 2012
(and it's not even the end of January yet!  I might be able to get a pair done a month, lol)

I participated in a swap.   A really neat swap hosted by Kathy B at Irisheyes knitting blog
The swap was to include a skein of yarn, a pen, and a gift card.

Grace at Lovin Comfort Knits did a wonderful job!!
Not only did I get a great skein of Trekking in gorgeous greens, a cool pen that has a tape measure, and an Amazon gift card, she included some cute monsters and dishcloths. (my favorite is the little owl)

Thank you Grace for the great goodies!!

Tea Time

I am sitting here enjoying a nice cup of Canadian Breakfast tea and Pims (orange flavored chocolate covered biscuits). Delicious!!
Did you notice the gummy penguins?! They have a juicy tummy. yum! yum!

I received these wonderful treats from KnittingJoy, my swap partner in the Ravelry group OT: FGF Insanity. We had an Insanniversary Swap. It was a secret swap so we did not know who had our name. What a surprise! I had KnittingJoy and she had me!! I had so much fun putting together a box of some of her favorite things. And, she did a wonderful job putting together butterfly stuff for me.

Delicious tea, beautiful cards (with butterflies), hankies (with butterflies), bookmark (with butterflies), books, and some Noro sock yarn!

I love it all! and the Noro is definitely my colors. I haven't tried this sock yarn yet so I am looking forward to it. I'll have to find just the right pattern. hmmm....

Everyone in this group is great and many wonderful swap packages were made and received.

Now, to finish my tea and knit a bit.

Wee Tiny Sock Swap

The Wee Tiny Sock Swap is finished. Of course I didn't think to take a picture of the sock I made for my partner!

But, I did take a picture of the one I received. It is in my favorite color!! And the card it came in, is so cute. Thank you Frieda!

Last year was the first time I participated in the Wee Tiny Sock Swap so of course I did it this year. It is such fun, doesn't take much time and you get to meet (via email) other sock addicts.

Thank you Emily for hosting an enjoyable swap!
