One of my grandmother's favorite Irish blessing:
"May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand."
I love the stories she would tell, especially about the leprechauns. When we were little, we were always out looking for them. After it rained, we'd be watching for the rainbow hoping we could find the end and the pot of gold.
And my grandmother was always singing. She sang, "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and other Irish tunes. Maybe that's where I got my love of music. She passed on her love of fine needlework and crochet so why not music.
So our girls grew up with some Irish folklore and some good, hearty Irish meals. I always cooked Corn Beef and Cabbage on St. Patrick's Day. Another favorite is Irish Stew but I didn't make it with lamb. But this year I probably won't be cooking. Today we closed on a house and we'll be busy getting things moved. (what little bit we have) The rest we'll be buying a little at a time. So for the next few weeks, we'll be unloading the motor home and moving stuff from storage.
So to you and yours...
"For each petal on the shamrock this brings a wish your way. Good health, good luck, and happiness for today and every day."

Congrats on the new house! Good luck with the move. I think moving house is one of the most stressful things to do (well, more to do with the whole buying/selling business).
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
