Blackwork
Just a sample of blackwork for a class I'll be teaching for the local Embroidery Guild Association
(I'm almost done with the bookmark)
Another knitted square.
Yes, in black. Yes, it can be hard to see the stitches. (especially for a pattern I have not done before)
It will be easier once I've done a few more rows and memorized the pattern. (I think)

I have never seen blackwork before. It's beautiful!
Beautiful work, Susan!
Hey Susan,
I love Hagrid! In fact, I have a toy Hagrid sitting by my computer watching over me right now ;-). I think I must make these socks.
Love the pretty embroidery too. Have you seen Alicia Paulson's new embroidery book? I love the homey look of her work. Oh, and here's some amazingly lovely embroidery from Susan Cowie http://www.susiecowie.com/index.html
She did some of the needlework in "Bright Star".
Sorry I didn't get a chance to vote for your socks -- was out of town.
Blessings,
G
Oh, so much creativity here! Hagrid's socks look so interesting!
