Seduce: to win over; attract

Yarn seduces me with her siren call. "Pick me! Pick me!" I am hopelessly enchanted by yarn and am delighted by the endless choices.

Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
  • Head on over to Should Be Reading and leave a link to your post. Then check out some of the other teasers.

My tease for this Tuesday...
"She couldn't tell us Marcus had called her, because we didn't know about Vivian then. If she'd said Marcus called, that would have opened the door to a whole new line of questions."

~p.111, Bone Appetit by Carolyn Haines

(Excellent book! I have read all of Caroly Haines' Sarah Booth Delaney Mysteries. I highly recommend them)

I would love this. I always read these types of books to mama. Thanks for the recommendation. Enjoy your afternoon.

Great teaser! Love the book cover. Sounds very interesting and I love to read series. Do you think these need to be read in order?

Not really. Each book is it's own story but the characters develop over the books. I personally like reading them in order (ocd?!)
The first one is "Them Bones" and tells how their detective agency gets started.
All the titles have the word "Bones" in it.

Here is my teaser from The Wolves of Andover by Kathleen Kent (Page 8):

Martha saw it all clear in that moment: this was the instant her place in the family would be decided. If she lost her footing at the outset, she would forever be dealt with as no more than a servant.

Wow, it's been decades since anything associated with me could be considered "a teaser." Back in my youth, that was a comb used to "rat" hair. But I thank you for selecting my book. I love these characters, and I hope you enjoy them, too.
