It's that time again....

... starting August 28, 2010.  Teams have been assigned.

I've been assigned to Team 7.  I think the number 7 is a lucky number! Maybe this year it'll be lucky enough to win!

Baton passed!!

The box baton has been passed on to Jessica! It was mailed early this morning.

I received the baton late yesterday afternoon...

There was a lot of stuff crammed into that tiny box! Thank you Cindy!!

After I ooohed at all the goodies, I began knitting... furiously...well, as fast I can... But alas, I did not get it finished in time to make it to the post office before they closed. But good news! It was in the mail first thing this morning!

I think the pink, blue, & white dishcloth came out cute. I hope you enjoy it Jessica!

Let the Game Begin!

Once again it is that time of year...DishRag Tag!!

Emily at Yarn Miracle hosts the game and it is so much fun. There are 20 teams with 10 knitters on each team. The baton... the dishrag. The challenge... knit a dishrag, keep the one from the previous team member, and forward your dishrag to the next team member... FAST!! The winner... the first team to get the "baton" back to Emily.

Over the past two weeks we chatted with each other and planned our strategy. Not everyone has a blog but for my team members who do, I've linked them on the sidebar. Check them out.

The boxes batons have been mailed to the Team Captains.

Reveling in Dish Rag Tag Glory!

The baton (box) made it home!

Yeah! Go Divas! We finished. No, we didn't finish in the top three. No we didn't finish 5th. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see the standings because Emily received two other boxes today along with ours.

It was fun and exciting! It was hard to patiently wait for my turn being the anchor. "No pressure" yeah right! And now it is over for our team. Kinda sad really, but I know we've all made new friends, have new blogs to keep up with, and will do it all over again next year.

"Baton" on its way & something new

The Dishrag Tag "Baton" is on it's way! I was at the Post Office at 8:33am this morning (our Post Office opens at 8:30). I'm excited that my team has finished but sad that we didn't place in the top three. But hey! maybe we'll be fourth?!

Something new:


I mentioned some yarn calling me to be wound up and I was looking forward to starting a new pair of socks with the Simply Sock Yarn Co. sock club yarn.

So I wound up Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock colorway Peacock (varigated) and Plumage.






And I wasn't even finished winding, when out jumps Schaefer Heather, Nancy Ward shouting wind me too! You know you want to start another scarf.

So before I could even start the new socks, not to mention even getting the needles for the scarf, I was side tracked by Ravelry. Yep, once again Ravelry has lured me into a new group. This group is the "Sock Knitters Anonymous." I had to join! I'm a sockaholic. I'll admit it.

So this group has a year long challenge, SockDown! Each month there will be a new challenge. It is to challenge yourself with something new, a design, technique, etc. You don't have to participate each month but it sure sounds like fun. And you have until the end of the following month to finish the socks!
