SNOW!

Yes, we even get snow once in a while. But it will be melted by noon.  And the temperatures are rising. We'll be 60 tomorrow and then in the 80s.
With our temperatures going up and down so much the plants don't know if it's still winter! And my sinus/allergies are having a field day. I think I've had a stuffy nose for a month from the mixed up plants blooming! lol.

Just when I'm feeling better

we have a cold front move in

and it brought some snow

I took the last of the antibiotic today, stopped coughing up a lung, and even got rid of the fever.  Finally I think I'm better and today turned cold.  Temperatures dropped during the rainy day and the rain turned to sleet and then snow.  Let's hope it doesn't bring in more cold germs!

First Snow!

We've gone from extreme heat to cold!  And this afternoon we have our first snowflakes!!

It kinda looks like white specks all over the picture doesn't it?  Trust me... it's snow!

Don't be getting too excited, it won't last.  But it sure is pretty coming down.  Now to get my knitting out, lol.  Must be time to start working on that sweater again.

p.s.  and the roses are still in bloom!

Phil was right!

Punxsutawney Phil was right! Six more weeks of winter!! We're into week 3 and look what I woke up to this morning!!!

And it is still snowing?! NOAA NWS predicts up to 4" for our area. We are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6pm tonight. Good thing I have plenty of toilet paper and bread BUT I ran out of milk! lol, but I have plenty of Coke Zero.

Ellie is wondering why we're having more cold, wet stuff on the ground when 3 days ago it was 70 degrees!!

Guess I'll be staying in today with some hot chocolate and knitting on something warm.

Who would'a thought we'd have a second snow storm here!! It was hardly snowing when we left on Christmas Eve but it got worse and the roads were horrible. I am happy to say we made it (only took 7 hrs for a 4-4 1/2 hr trip!!!!) I've learned they don't have snow plows or trucks to treat the roads here in this part of TX. ??? maybe they should if we're gonna get snow (like they're predicting for today, Tues).



They got us up at 5am! so here are a few Christmas pictures...

They hardly look awake themselves but they were excited.
It was too snowy outside to ride the scooters so they rode laps around the house.

So anyway... we made it, had a great Christmas and are now home.

Snow!

Yes, we actually had snow today.
Ellie wasn't too sure about it. When we first went out, she sniffed it and tried to hop over it.
She did run through it and headed straight for the back door! It was fun to watch her hop around like a bunny.


Her little feet were ice cold. I didn't think she'd need doggy booties here in TX.

Guess I need to knit her a sweater!










I didn't think I'd see snow again unless we went back up north.
This snow is the best kind. It's beautiful falling and such a joy to watch. It's light and fluffy. And best of all... by 3pm it was all melted!!

Back from the snowy north

Yes, we're b-a-c-k! And yes, it was cold!! I froze my tushi!


It was -17 degrees when we got to Ohio and only warmed up to 20 (so they said). It also snowed everyday. I do not and I repeat, do not miss the snow and cold. (just a little sample picture of the backyard at my in-laws)

I had hurt my knee before we left for Ohio so I was extra careful in walking (or trying to) in the snow!

I know, I know, there are plenty of you that live in the north and love the snow. My one sister-in-law loves the snow and wants to move back to Colorado. She loves all the snow sports. So yes, I'll admit it, I'm a wuss!!

We got home after a long, long day in the airport, two plane rides and a long car ride (4 1/2 hrs) to 70 degrees. To top that off, today was a high 83! So I have now gone from one extreme to the other.

They are predicting Saturday will have a high of 52 degrees. (no wonder I'm still coughing and sniffling)
