The last WIP Wednesday for 2011

Another pair of Garter Stitch Striped Mitts and a Scarf to match!

My winter coat and jacket are black.  What better way to accessorize than with a red and black (with a touch of grey) scarf and mitts.

The mitts need seamed and the scarf is over half done. 
I'll try to get it finished by Saturday night bringing my total finished projects for the year up to 32.  (that's 6 more than last year!)

Catching up

1. I am home from all my travels.

2. The weather is still crazy here.  It cooled down to a bearable temperature.  And then the roses started blooming!!

And they're still blooming!?

3. I finished the hat to match the Big Apple Mitts.

I liked the way this hat turned out so I now have to knit one for myself. lol.  I think I'll use red and black for mine.

4. Not a lot of knitting, reading, or blogging has been done in the past two weeks.  I will try to do better.

Welcome December!!  Hope everyone is not stressing too much trying to get all their gift knitting done.  I've already decided not to stress out.  I just won't get everything done.  But I'm ok with that decision.  It just means I'll have a head start on next years gifts!

Garter Stitch Striped Hat to match the Garter Stitch Striped Fingerless Mitts

Why yes, it is knitted flat and then seamed up the back (just like the fingerless mitts were done).

Finished the Garter Stitch Striped Fingerless Mitts

They were a quick knit and it wasn't too bad sewing up the seam.  They are a little warm for today though, lol.

It is knitted flat! so yes, I'll have a seam to stitch.

It has an interesting but different thumb construction.

They are working up quickly and I love the garter stitch stripes!
